(LifeSiteNews.com) – “What’s past is prologue” is an admonition from Shakespeare’s The Tempest, however that is the theme of a report from the government watch-dog group Judicial Watch, which warns that America faces a return of aggressive pro- abortion policy if former first lady turned senator Hillary Clinton wins the presidency in 2008.

In a special report entitled: New Clinton White House Records Raise Disturbing Questions about Hillary Clinton and Abortion, Judicial Watch reveals that Hillary was ever present behind the scenes of Clinton’s abortion policy, and indicates that a Hillary Clinton presidency would be deeply tied to advancing a pro-abortion agenda.

Elton John: Religion Causes Hatred of Gays; "Ban Religion Completely"

LONDON, November 13, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Homosexual activism has led singer Elton John to call for the banning of all religion. In a discussion last August with Jake Shears of Scissors Sisters and published yesterday by The Observer Music Monthly, Elton John said:

"I think religion has always tried to turn hatred towards gay people. Religion promotes the hatred and spite against gays. But there are so many Christian people I know who are gay and love their religion . . . From my point of view I would ban religion completely, even though there are some wonderful things about it. I love the idea of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the beautiful stories about it, which I loved in Sunday school and I collected all the little stickers and put them in my book. But the reality is that organised religion doesn't seem to work. It turns people into hateful lemmings and it's not really compassionate."

Many Christians are adopting the new “spirituality” and tossing out orthodoxy like an old ragged pair of jeans. Believers have settled into “progressive churches” and have lost touch with objective truth found in God’s Word. Followers of Jesus Christ must submit to the absolute authority of the Bible. Jesus said, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God'" (Matthew 4:4).

What Paul referred to as a “different gospel” has been introduced into churches through music, books, false teachers and unorthodox movements. The authority of the Bible is trumped by what is deemed politically correct, thus watering down the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Liberal or conservative,” says Chuck Colson, “if you weaken the Bible as your authority, you give up more than just some ancient set of dogmas and rules. You give up joy, excitement, the very heart of the Christian faith. You lose what I call the thrill of orthodoxy—the exhilaration of experiencing and living out eternal truth that has been lived through the ages.”

So, if the Bible isn’t a Christian’s authority, what is? Short answer: Anything he or she wants it to be. You sort of make up your religion as you go along. Does this strike a cord?

Christianity has become a blend of religious beliefs. Add a pinch of modern psychology, a dash of Buddhism, a teaspoonful of Catholic mysticism, a cup of New Age spirituality, mix well, and viola! You’ve cooked up a batch of New Age Christianity. --> THE REST OF THE STORY

The Californication of the Economy

The midterm elections were held on November 7th and by November 10th the Associated Press reported that California Senator Barbara Boxer was promising “major policy shifts on global warming, air quality and toxic-waste cleanup as she prepares to lead the U.S. Senate’s environmental committee.”

“Time is running out,” said Sen. Boxer about global warming “and we need to move forward on this,” during a conference call with reporters. Noticeably missing from her Chicken Little pronouncement was any scientific evidence that (1) there actually is a global warming threat and (2) why any of the draconian proposals to deal with it would have the slightest effect.

“Boxer said she intends to introduce legislation to curb greenhouse gases, strengthen environmental laws regarding public health and hold oversight hearings on federal plans to clean up Superfund hazardous waste sites across the country.”

I call this the “Californication” of the economy because Sen. Boxer would model federal legislation on a new California law that imposed the first statewide limit on greenhouse gases, seeking to cut that State’s emissions by 25 percent in an effort to return them to 1990 levels by 2020.

The National Center for Public Policy Research recently noted that, “Despite ratifying the Kyoto Protocol, the European Uni0n is on track to miss its Kyoto emissions reduction target of 8% below 1990 levels by 2012. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the CO2 emissions for the l5 original member nations of the EU increased an average of 9% between 2000 and 2004.” Industrialized societies that require economic growth should never place a meaningless obstacle like “greenhouse gas emissions” in the way, but that’s exactly what the United Nations Kyoto Protocol does. --> THE REST OF THE STORY

November 14, 2006 - With the Democrats taking control of both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives this January, we can expect the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and its pro-homosexual surrogates newly elected to Congress, to begin an aggressive push for passage of a “hate crimes” bill designed to provide federally protected status to the behavior of homosexuality. This hate crimes bill is likely to be a re-engineered version of the old Local Law Enforcement Enhancement Act (LLEEA). The pro- homosexual, anti-Christian Employment Non- Discrimination Act (ENDA) is another bill that will be revived as part of the homosexual agenda.

Call to Conservatives.

For 40 years, the anti-God Left has been using America’s courts to impose an anti-religion, anti- family agenda on America -– an extremist agenda that politicians (even most liberals) would never dare vote for.

And, ultra-liberal Democrats and leftist special interest groups like the ACLU and People for the American Way have led a campaign of vilification against President Bush’s judicial nominees.

Casey Ran as "Pro-Life"; His First Act Seeks "Sexual Orientation&

(LifeSiteNews.com) – Within 24 hours of winning the bitter Pennsylvanian Senate race against incumbent Republican Rick Santorum, Democrat Senator-elect Bob Casey, Jr. let his real agendas show through. Citizenlink.org has reported that, the very day after the election, Casey announced that he would work in support of legislation to increase the scope of federal hate crimes law to encompass sexual orientation and gender identity as a victim group.

Casey was chosen by the Democratic party to run against Santorum because of his supposedly moderate Democratic views. Throughout the election race, Casey’s campaign touted him as a pro-life and pro-family moderate candidate who valued his Catholic faith.

However, Casey was immediately and unabashedly backed in his election bid by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), a pro-gay activist group. On the HRC website, it claims “HRC flexed its political muscle and launched an extensive and strategic campaign in partnership with local organizations that resulted in a clear victory for fair-minded candidate Casey.”

Planned Parenthood Federation of America said victories by pro-abortion candidates in conservative states, along with South Dakota voters’ rejection of an abortion ban, should lead Democrats to consider the push for increasingly easy abortion access to be a mainstream issue.

Pro-Abortion Congressmen Ask President Bush to Dump Pro-Life Pick

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Seven pro- abortion members of Congress have asked President Bush to rescind his appointment of Dr. Eric Keroack as the new head of the family planning programs at the health department.

They say Keroack, who is pro-life, should be dismissed because he is the medical director for a Massachusetts crisis pregnancy center.

Bush picked Keroack Friday to become the deputy assistant secretary for population affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services.

The appointment is not subject to Senate confirmation. However, seven Democrats have said that Keroack shouldn't become the one to advise HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt on teen pregnancy and family planning matters and oversee $283 million in annual family planning grants because he opposes the use of birth control.

"We are concerned that Dr. Keroack has promoted policies -- including the refusal to distribute contraception even to married women -- that directly conflict with the mission of the federal program," they said in their letter. In an email to Reuters, HHS spokeswoman Christina Pearson defended Keroack saying he is a skilled physician and a national expert on teen pregnancy. "We have confidence that he'll perform his duties effectively and in accordance with the law," she said.

My recent co-authored column Protect Deployed Parents' Rights (Tucson Citizen, 11/9/06, Trenton Times, 11/11/06, Macon Telegraph, 11/11/06), discusses the way divorced or separated military parents are often pushed out of their children's lives because the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act of 2003 does not adequately protect their parental rights in family court. The column discusses some legislative progress being made in this area, and outlines what further action is needed.

In the Trenton Times version of the piece, family law attorney Jeff Leving and I discussed the case of lieutenant Scott Keenan. We wrote:
